King Alfred….the dread day draws near for learning how big it will be

18 December 2015…..Something for your diary…..4pm on January 21st.
Council Leader, Warren Morgan, confirmed yesterday in a conversation that, yes, the new plans would be unveiled and agreed at the Policy and Resources Committee meeting to go ahead to the planning stage on this date in the New Year.  There are two shortlisted candidate developers and whichever one gets the gig, we can expect a collossus project that will swamp the seafront in a ludicrous amount of housing.
I just hope it includes some  decent Esplanade-side hospitality provision for the huge numbers of people who like to walk along there on a nice day.
And lets hope they have done their groundwork – literally.  Karis didn’t; and the example of an (admitted) 4 inch northward listing i360 needs to be heeded.  And the amount of work needed to counter ground conditions when building tall will be very expensive.
