Shoreham Port Area

MASTERPLAN AND PLANNING BRIEF

The Port of Shoreham sits within both Brighton and Hove and within Adur District.
Following years of consultation across the area, the Shoreham Harbour Masterplan is now a completed document which sets out how the port would like to see future direction and redevelopment proceed.
Adur-Worthing now have responsibility for raising a number of planning briefs to provide frameworks for various related areas in and around the port.  These planning strategy documents will guide re-development concerning what will be considered or allowed in any of the given areas.
By mid-summer 2012, a public consultation was expected to begin on a planning brief for the eastern end of the harbour arm which is in Hove adjacent to Hove Lagoon.  According to KAWHRA member and retired planner Sue Moffatt, this has now been put back to later in the year. The Masterplan looks for work-related and leisure development on that site and the planning brief will reflect this.  No new housing in that vicinity, in other words.
